Products must be thoroughly inspected before accepting. If the product is damaged
or any parts are missing, you must immediately inform the delivery person and not
accept the product. If you accept we consider that the product was in good condition
and returns/ refund related requests will not be accepted by ekade.lk or the
merchant/supplier. Delivery time is generally 3 business days within Colombo,
however, times could vary depending on the distance and the product and ekade.lk
cannot be held liable for any delays due to information supplied by you. In the event
where unexpected catastrophes erupt, we will inform you by email and/or phone
call, so that you will be updated on the situation. Further, ekade.lk cannot be held liable for any delays by the courier companies.
Please ensure to check your ordered product/s for any physical damages before
accepting the delivery. Please do not accept delivery if there are any serious
damages that will not be able to rectify.
ekade.lk will not be liable for goods that are damaged in transit if the Proof of
Delivery (POD) is signed and the goods are accepted.
ekade.lk will not bear responsibility for the condition of the products which are not
collected within 2 weeks, and ekade.lk reserves the right to dispose of the product/s
if not collected within one month.
Cash on Delivery (COD)
Currently, Cash on Delivery is only available within Colombo 1-15 & suburbs only.
Customers can pay for the orders once it arrives at your door-step via cash payment
for orders up-to Rs.10,000 only.
A member of the ekade.lk team will contact you to confirm the Order. You cannot
cancel the order or refuse to pay when the product/s are delivered to you after your
confirmation.
Please note that COD orders will not be delivered during weekends.
Since the majority of products are unique, specific and crafted by Sri Lankan rural
entrepreneurs, ekade.lk team will be contacting you if any extra time needed for the
delivery process.
Undeliverable Packages
Occasionally packages are returned to us as undeliverable. When the courier service
returns an undeliverable package to us, we will contact you via email or telephone.
Why Are Packages Occasionally Undeliverable?
Incorrect Address
Sometimes, packages are undeliverable when the address is incorrect. Please check
your shipping address carefully when placing your order. Should this occur, a
redelivery fee will apply. We will try our best to contact you and double-check all
orders before processing the order once payment is completed online.
Refused by the Recipient
If you are sending a gift, it may be a good idea to let the recipient know that a
surprise is on the way, otherwise, they may refuse to accept the package believing
that it was sent to them due to an error. In addition, it is recommended that you
inform ekade.lk as well so that the delivery agent will know that the recipient is not
the person who placed the order. This is necessary for security and fraud reasons. If
the recipient refused to accept on the first time and later on wishes to receive again,
a redelivery fee will apply.
